System
operation
Nordic ID RF601 handhelds are part of a unique wireless data collection
system. The system consists of radio handsets, which are used to
communicate with the host system via a base station using a very
efficient communications protocol. The host system can be just a PC or a
more complex computer system. The base station (or several base
stations) can be connected to the host system using an RS232 serial
interface or with a LAN using the Ethernet-Serial converter.
Nordic ID RF651 hand terminals function otherwise almost similar to
RF601 handhelds but as a radio communication they use the globally
accepted Bluetooth radio network, either via a Bluetooth base station or
via a Bluetooth dongle.
